The following item is "Consent to Electronic Voting" in Sugarhill elections combined with "Consent to Emailed Legal Notices". Signing this is a Florida Statute requirement if you want to vote electronically (email). Sugarhill has 80% of our residences enjoying electronic voting and receiving Emailed Legal Notices.⬇︎

Sugarhill Consent to Electronic Voting and Emailed Legal Notices

You are not required to vote electronically by internet or to receive emailed Legal Notices in Sugarhill elections and notifications, but we highly recommend consenting to this process. Select this to see why this is the best for Sugarhill:

Include my name and phone number in the Members Directory

The Sugarhill bylaws of 2005 require a "Community Directory" of names and phone numbers to be made available to all members of the association. Florida statutes override this requirement and allows you to not be on this list at your request. Please select if you want to be on this list or not. The list is only available to Sugarhill owners and is sent as a PDF by request through our "Contact Us" page in this website.

We will send you a confirmation email with our phone number. We attempt to respond within 48 hours or less. Some circumstances beyond our control may extend that time. Normally we reply within 24 hours or less. We will let you know if we need more information in our reply.

Some Browsers Fill Too Much with Autofill

Some browsers may populate unwanted fields. If this happens you may start over by ↻ refreshing the page or going through the form looking for fields that shouldn't have filled and deleting the wrong data.
  • This is often a problem with larger forms but it is completely different depending on the browser you are using and the browsers change their autofill standards often.
  • Try one field and if it fills more than it should refresh the page then try just typing your name in the name field without selecting an autofill button. Autofill may just fill that field only.
  • If it worked and only filled that field without others then repeat what you did for the fields you want filled.
  • We are sorry for the inconvenience created by this issue. We expect eventually all browsers will use the same standards but for now they don't.

Why eVoting is Best

  • The process we choose blocks all connections beyond the voter and their ballot. No one can ever see who voted what, 100% fully anonymous. E-voting is more anonymous than paper voting.
  • Our Association HOA board certified attorney has fully endorsed this voting process.
  • As of August 2020 - 80% of Sugarhill has consented to vote electronically.
  • The security of the voting process eliminates any chance of fraud.
  • The security of the system meets all the Florida Statute 720.317 requirements.
  • The system makes accidental double voting impossible.
  • The process saves Sugarhill substantial money in postage and paper.
  • E-voters do not have to attend the meeting but they can if they want.
  • Statistics show quorum is always met when electronic voting is used.
  • It reduces Board members labor. That makes board burnout much less of a problem.
  • E-voting can be done anytime the election is running and it can run for weeks if selected.
  • Final tally is 100% accurate.
  • Receiving Legal Notices by Email is safe and allows us to send more information and solves the same mailed paper problems noted above.
