Rumors in Sugarhill? —oh yeah, we got 'em
The trouble with lying and deceiving is that their efficiency depends entirely upon a clear notion of the truth that the liar and deceiver wishes to hide.       Hannah Arendt

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true: the other is to refuse to accept what is true."

When our now vice president Dan and I decided we couldn't take how the property management company was deceptively imposed on Sugarhill and we decided to make a definitive change, I worried that the community would not believe us anymore than the last board. Dan then said these words "they will trust us if we don't do anything wrong and always tell the truth." He, of course, was absolutely right so we started keeping records of every possible item that could be taken as us not telling the truth and backed them with factual documentation that would always be available for any owner to review.   With any organization there are an odd few people who like to spread untrue rumors, some are just chronic liars 🤥. Often this comes from assumptions by seriously unaware-of-covenants people who may be completely confused due to their lack of association knowledge or just very strange behavior. As always we won't divulge anyone's name in the website.

3/11/22 Mailed-To-Community Manifesto: Now that the rumor mill's operator has been revealed in a 5 page manifesto mailed to the community, we are at least aware and understand why the rumors happened.4/4/22 updated 11/14/22

Here's what we recommend when an odd letter, email, manifesto, or just spoken commentary gets presented to you:

  • Consider the source.
  • Has the author exhibited strange nuisance behavior in Sugarhill?
  • Does the communication make sense?
  • Does the communication seem to ramble on into a rant?
  • Does it seem vindictive or libelous?
  • Do you spot statements you know to be untrue?
  • Can you verify the facts of the content?
  • Are sources quoted bias?
  • Does the communication show an understanding of our covenants and bylaws?

We discovered the March 11th manifesto was not mailed to every residence in Sugarhill. We want all Sugarhill to be aware of this document so we are providing this Link to open the document. We have also placed all text that 1) makes no sense 2) is an outright falsehood and 3) is libelous, in red or purple text. The authors name and address has been redacted for internet security reasons.
