Sugarhill Changed Accounting & Bookeeping Service

In April of 2024 our accounting/bookkeeping service went through another transformation belying our understanding that the merger of Paterson Accounting would stay consistent to Peggy Paterson’s service for Sugarhill.

First we noticed the accounting reports were completely different and not what we needed or wanted. Next we saw strange mistakes followed by replacements noting “use these and not the previous” annotations. Communication was becoming cloudy and many new people were assigned to Sugarhill’s account.

The final straw was when we were told there was a soon-to-be price increase for their service, a 25% increase, ugh. They went on to say it was for a new super software system. They described the “great benefits”, none of which would benefit Sugarhill in the least.

After a thorough search and vetting process we found Treasure Coast Accounting, an exceptional 20 year old service perfectly fitted to our needs. We have contracted them after presenting the change in our September board meeting. Treasure Coast Accounting's fee is right in line with what we have been paying when the service was Paterson Accounting.

Since we used Paramount for our meeting room we had to search out a replacement. We found the perfect place behind the CVS pharmacy on Savannah Road, Pineapple Chalet located at 3472 NE Savannah Rd with easy access for everyone. They specialize in short term "Meeting Space" rentals. It's directly across Savannah Road from Dominos Pizza (located in the plaza that has Winn Dixie). Some of you may remember the building as a bicycle shop followed by a lawnmower shop.

While the meeting room at Paramount Tax was free for us, this new space is very reasonable and still has a significant savings when considering the huge price increase proposed by Paramount.
