Note: Patio, Deck or Railing projects are a request for new construction, major repair or replacement approval for the house Patio, Deck and/or Railing. Fill in the business name of the installer, the installer's Martin County License Number, the installer's website URL and the Martin County permit status.
Martin County Code and Florida State Law require specific fall protection for children. A single rope or bar between the top railing and the floor will not contain children from falling off a 30" high deck. Florida State Law requires vertical and horizontal passages to not be wider than 4". That is why you must have a permit to build a deck
. Also, a poorly built deck has a strong potential for collapse and injury.
Decks and Railings must meet Florida Building Codes and will require Martin County permit. Un-permitted projects will be reported to Martin County Code Enforcement due to safety issues.
